• Editing and project managing the creation of resources for patients and HCPs (books and booklets, leaflets, videos and plain language summaries) from inception to launch.

Achievements

• Introduced co-development with patients and advocacy groups as routine for all Fast Facts for Patients publications. This includes patient focus groups and patient review boards.
• Introduced compensation for patients and for patient advocacy groups.
• Updated production process for patient publications resulting in cost savings of between 30-70% per deliverable.
• Achieved accreditation in 2023 ('PIF Tick') for Fast Facts patient resources, raising standards and committing to maintaining those standards.
• Grew the Fast Facts product suite through the addition of Plain Language Summaries of Publication (PLSP) and patient information videos.
• Documented the production process for Fast Facts for Patients, introduced legal agreements in plain language for patient participants and guidelines for reviewers.
• Co-wrote E learning course for researchers on writing Plain Language Summaries.

• Precise language editing of complex medical research in neurosurgery, neurology, vascular surgery and related fields to improve accuracy, style and comprehensibility in order to increase journal acceptance rates.
