My personal and professional accomplishments:

  • I led the design and launch of the Vaccelerate Project, a research and innovation program funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 initiative. This significant project operates as a registry within a network of scientists across Europe, coordinated by the University Hospital of Cologne. The University of Bern proudly served as the representing institution for Switzerland. The project has achieved considerable success, notably attracting over 2,000 Swiss volunteers to participate in various studies across Europe.
  • In addition to my work with the Vaccelerate Project, I also collaborated as the study coordinator on the PoliCOV-19 Study. This cross-sectional analysis of a cohort study focused on the impact of the pandemic on police personnel. Conducted in 2021, the study involved 978 officers from the Bernese Cantonal police force. From four different geographic districts in Bern Switzerland , which represented 35% of the entire staff. My role was pivotal in developing the study parameters and coordinating the extensive data collection efforts.
  • Another achievements has been gaining proficiency with the German language while simultaneously balancing work and academics. Upon moving to Switzerland, I immersed myself in learning German, which was essential for both my personal and professional growth. During this time, I also worked as a waiter, where I quickly adapted to using German in everyday interactions with customers and colleagues.

From my early days in the vibrant, tourist-friendly town of Cabarete in the Dominican Republic to my advanced studies and professional life in Switzerland, my journey has been deeply shaped by a mix of cultures, languages, and business practices. As a dual citizen, I benefited from an international education that spanned from earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at a prestigious university in the Dominican Republic to completing a Master’s degree in International Business at the ZHAW School of Management in Winterthur.
