- Software Engineer (With backend focus, but working on front end where required) working on the full life cycle of the Segen Design Tools team, building the new design tool to allow Solar Panel Installers to build a full PV system with compatibility checks and visual designs.
- Aided with planning/discovery during the projects discovery phase and made inputs on what tech stack + 3rd party API were used in the final project framework. For example deciding on a meteorological API for the design tools wind loading calculations and also Investigations into Apache Gremlin Graph DB for driving compatibility logic between components.
- Develop and maintain API endpoints and backend business logic using NEST.JS typescript and Azure Cosmos DB for NOSQL database interactions across a variety of micro-services in an NX Monorepo to isolate concerns of different business logic areas with Unit Test coverage.
- Migrated legacy data from MSSQL Server to Azure Cosmos DB NOSQL using Azure Data Factory data flows to denormalise legacy data in a JSON friendly object.
- Built prototype for a product compatibility engine using Apache Gremlin Graph DB to represent the relationship between products in a graph format that is more performant than traditional database lookups.
- Built conditional front-end components for our Design tool using Next.JS typescript, Tailwind and Storybook. Using Figma for designs
