Motivation Letter

Dear Madam/Sir, I am writing to express my strong interest in the position of Associate Oversight Officer. I believe my extensive experience in oversight work at WIPO, profound knowledge of international organizations, related professional certifications, and LL.M. degree in International Law make me a suitable candidate for this position. Since I joined WIPO in October 2019, I have been actively involved in oversight activities in three dimensions: audit, evaluation, and investigation. During this time, I grew professionally and acquired substantive knowledge in all three fields through practice, interaction with colleagues, and continuous training. This resulted in my obtaining professional designations such as Certified Fraud Examiner and Internal Audit Practitioner, which enhanced my capacity to handle reports of alleged fraud and participate in audit and investigative engagements. Besides that, I received training on, among others (i) Report Writing for Investigators; (ii) Theory on Investigations into Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment; (iii) Standards of Proof in Investigation and Litigating Skills; (iv) TeamMate Audit Configuration – a platform that the Internal Oversight Division uses to record and track the implementation of recommendations arising from oversight engagements. My performance has been rated outstanding throughout the years in WIPO, and I have repeatedly received positive feedback from my colleagues and supervisors about my contribution to the Division’s work. In all positions I have held throughout my career, I have strived to go beyond my standard job descriptions and perform tasks of a professional nature. Thus, I gained solid experience in research and data analysis, interviewing, handling confidential information with due diligence, and report drafting with attention to detail. I have also honed my multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills. I am open-minded and respectful of diversity in a multicultural environment. I will be happy to continue being part of the Internal Oversight Division’s team and bring impact with my knowledge, experience, and commitment. Thank you for your time and consideration of my application. Sincerely, Viktoriya
