Work History

PostDoctoral Fellow

ETH Zurich
2021.09 - Current
  • Pioneered the use of thickness-controlled perovskite semiconductor crystals in high-energy photon detection.
  • Successfully achieved the development of zero-voltage bias X-ray detectors, marking a first in the field. This breakthrough contributed to significantly improved detector stability and performance. Published in Nature Photonics.
  • Personally oversaw the entire fabrication process of detectors, from crystal growth to device assembly, ensuring high quality and consistency in detector performance.
  • Conducted in-depth measurements and characterization of detectors under high-energy photons.
  • Worked in collaboration with international research teams, enhancing project outcomes through shared expertise.

Research Assistant

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)
2015.08 - 2021.09
  • Initiated the research on single-crystal perovskite solar cells within the group, leading to the development of efficiency record-breaking cells.
  • Managed the entire process of solar cell fabrication made out of solution-grown semiconductors, from conceptualization to the final assembly.
  • Responsible for the full material and electrical characterization of the solar cells and analyzed the performance statistics.
  • Established collaborative relationships with international research teams.
  • Actively mentored both undergraduate and graduate students, providing them with hands-on guidance in their research projects.

Research Assistant

National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM)
2013.09 - 2015.08

Actively collaborated with team members to conceptualize and execute experimental studies in the field of nonlinear optical applications.

  • Played a pivotal role in designing advanced optical fibers, employing both analytical and numerical methods. Utilized Lumerical FDTD software for precise simulations.
  • Operated a fiber drawing tower to fabricate indefinitely long optical fibers.
  • Utilized the cleanroom facilities to prepare the materials for further characterization.
